AAP leader speaks about transferring babus to Tribal Affairs department as punishment; BJP asks BTP whether they’re agree with their ally

Gandhinagar: BJP today attacked opposition Aam Admi Party (AAP) over a remark in which top AAP leader Raghav Chaddha spoke about transferring bad performing government officials to Tribal Affairs department as punishment posting. BJP also demanded AAP’s political ally Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) to clarify if they agree with AAP’s view.

Party leader Amit Malviya tweeted portion of Chaddha’s interview and said: According to Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide, transferring someone to Tribal Affairs department is punishment. AAP fancies itself as a political alternative in Gujarat, which has almost 15% Tribals and 27 reserved seats. BTP should clarify if they agree with AAP’s view on Tribals?

AAP has formed alliance with BTP in Gujarat ahead of upcoming State assembly polls in Gujarat that are likely to take place in December this year.

Raghav Chaddha, a top leader of Aam Admi Party (AAP) who is also Rajya Sabha member in a reply during TV interview stated, “You can’t remove some babu (official) from job, you can just do transfer posting only. If someone is doing very good work, make him health secretary, home secretary, and if someone is performing bad then send him to tribal department on punishment posting …”

As Chaddha spoke about posting bad performing officials to Tribal Affairs department, the interviewer intervened and pointed out that this was a politically incorrect statement.

Chaddha soon in attempt to correct himself added two more departments to the list. He said, ‘ .. I am just trying to explain it to you, send to horticulture or animal husbandry departments. I am giving you an example, please take me in right spirit …. If you don’t do why someone would hear you.” DeshGujarat
