Govt run Uttampura Primary School emerges as a model school in rural North Gujarat

Palanpur: The government-run Uttampura Primary School in Dantiwada in Banaskantha district has facilities of WiFi in the entire campus, CCTV cameras in the classrooms, and multimedia hall.
Run by Banaskantha Jilla Panchayat Education Committee and Uttampura School Management Committee (SMC), Uttampura Primary School was established on 27th August 2019. The school is under the School of Excellence Project. The school has many modern facilities such as multimedia hall, modern computer lab, library, playground, theatre and so on. Each class and the ground has CCTV cameras. The entire building is equipped with an intercom system. The school has a terrace garden, large parking for vehicles, water harvesting system, and a meal shed with capacity of 1000 children.
The parents meeting is organised twice a year. The school arranges zero periods for the students as per requirement. The insurance cover of Rs 50 thousand under Vidhyadeep scheme is provided for the children. The transportation is also arranged for the students living far from the school.
The school has a staff of 14 teachers at present. A new library is built at the school at a cost of Rs 5 lakh. The school and village are made plastic-free and zero carbon campus with the help of SMC. The tree plantation is scheduled in June every year as part of Van Mahotsav. The school ranked first in the Divya Shala Project in the district. The school achieved an award shield from the education minister in the Shrestha Shala Project of the district. It was included as the first green school of the state in 2013. It ranked first in the district in the Inspire Award.
