35 properties coming in the way of Hirasar Airport’s approach road to be acquired

Rajkot: As many as 35 properties will be acquired which were falling on the approach road for the Hirasar International Airport in Rajkot, the government has officially announced. The work inside the airport is nearly complete but as many as 35 properties are falling on the route of the approach road to be constructed connecting the Ahmedabad highway with the airport.
The government has nominated Anil Prajapati of Gandhinagar as the Special Acquisition Officer for this project. Prajapati had visited the Hirasar airport and held a meeting with the owners of the plots of land that have to be acquired and explained to them how much compensation they would be eligible for if they tendered their land voluntarily and how much would they receive as per the law.
The villagers said they will inform their decisions after holding discussions internally amongst themselves. Of the 35 properties that fall on the route, 10 are modernly constructed homes, 10 are open plots of land and the rest are makeshift shelters. Some of the owners of these properties are no longer alive and the officials also explained what procedure were the heirs supposed to follow.
