Mehsana: Mehsana municipality has found a robotic machine for sewage cleaning unusable.

The Gujarat CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) authority provided the robotics machine to Mehsana municipality for sewage cleaning on September 5th, 2021. The machine is operated using a solar-powered battery, and its one-year maintenance contract had ended. The CSR authority had requested the municipality to pay for over Rs. 3 lakh annual maintenance cost of the machine as the contract had ended.

In response, the Mehsana municipality stated that the machine is unusable and cannot serve its purpose. The municipality does not require the machine as the contract has already been awarded for gutter cleaning. The robot has been kept idle and unused at the pumping station at TB road for the last three months, and its gas detector, solar panel, and grab bucket have stopped working after cleaning 150 sewers in a year.
