Morari Bapu ask filmmakers to consult before making film on Ramayan amid Adipurush row

Gandhinagar: The film Adipurush, which claims to be based on Ramayan, is surrounded by controversy ever since its release due to the use of bad language and the wrong portrayal of characters from Ramayan. Amidst the controversy, Katha Kar Morari Bapu has asked the filmmakers to consult him or take the basis of Valmiki’s Ramayan and Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas before making a movie on the subject.
“I humbly request from Vyas Peeth that these days several movies are being made about the Ramayan and its characters. I humbly ask that if you want to make a film or a drama about Ramayan. You keep in mind the success on the window (movie screen), but at least take the support of Valmiki or Tulsidas ji. You can even ask Morari Bapu. It may seem like my pride, but I am saying this only because I have worked for 65 years on Ramayan,” said Bapu during his Ram Katha in Karnprayag.
“I would also give respect to Late Ramananad Sagar ji, for the Ramayan he made. At that time he had asked two people, Pt Ramkinkar ji Maharaj, and he came to me to ask a few things. Even if you don’t want to ask me, at least base it on Valmiki’s Ramayan, Valmiki has written this Shastra. You may not get Dhan (money) but you will get param Dhan. I ask very humbly, why make controversy around Ramayan? It is Granth of Upasana and Sadhna. It is not the book for a movie, but a book about steadfast character,” he added. DeshGujarat
