Damanganga achieves rule level; Storage in Ukai and Dharoi close to rule level

Gandhinagar: Southern Gujarat’s second largest dam Damanganga is now full beyond the rule level prescribed for upto 1st August.

Against the rule level of 72 m (for period upto 1st August), the dam at 3.00 pm today (July 27) was 72.15 m full. The full level is 79.86 m. The dam has 44.24 percent storage of water against full capacity at present. Against 55,403 cusecs inflow, 97,219 cusecs water is being released to downstream as of 3 pm today to maintain the rule level. Against the designed gross storage capacity of 524.86 MCM, the present storage is 232.17 MCM at 3 pm today.

In another development, Southern Gujarat’s largest and Gujarat’s second largest Ukai dam is fast approaching the rule level of 101.50 m. The water level at 3 pm was 100.6 m with an inflow of 58,579 cusecs. The dam is 67.27 percent full.

In another update, Dharoi Dam is 81.35 percent full and quite close to the rule level of 189.59 m. Dharoi has at 3 pm today 188.07 m level with water storage of 661.46 mcm against designed gross storage capacity of 813.14 MCM.

Gujarat’s largest Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam is 71.43 percent full with the level at 129.28 m against the full level of 138.68 m. DeshGujarat
