No relief to Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh from Gujarat HC in GU defamation case

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat high court today refused to grant an interim stay on the defamation proceedings against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh in the metropolitan court of Ahmedabad.
The case filed by the Gujarat University registrar pertains to Kejriwal and Singh’s remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree given by the Gujarat University.
Kejriwal and Singh haven’t appeared in the metro court after summoned for several times in this case. They both want stay on criminal defamation proceeding in lower court. Earlier the sessions court had denied them relief and asked them to appear in the court, following which they went to the High Court. DeshGujarat
