‘Umiya Ni Adalat’ to resolve internal disputes of Patidars
November 02, 2023
Ahmedabad: The Vishv Umiya Foundation (VUF), a Patidar community organization, has launched “Umiya Ni Adalat,” an experimental platform aimed at resolving internal disputes and disagreements internally instead of taking them to courts. This initiative involves parties approaching the VUF, which will involve respected community leaders to help find amicable solutions, relieving them from the complexities of the legal process.
This program was formally introduced during a VUF event in Ahmedabad, coinciding with National Unity Day celebrations that included the felicitation of former royal figures from princely states.
R.P. Patel, the President of VUF, highlighted the existence of numerous pending cases in courts, including those related to family matters and other disputes and said “District-level committees will try to amicably resolve disputes that come to their attention. If resolution remains elusive, the state-level Samadhan committee, composed of community leaders, will step in to address these disputes. The primary goal of this initiative is to either prevent the filing of such cases or to find resolutions for long-standing disputes.”
In addition, VUF has inaugurated a counseling program at the Uma Counselling Centre to assist young individuals and professionals experiencing stress and depression. The center, operational from Tuesday, will be staffed by a team of doctors and motivational speakers. Dr. Jitendra Adhia, a doctor, motivational speaker, and author, will head the center. The center’s theme is “Mann Ni Mavjat, Samaasyao Nu Samadhan” (Finding Solutions to Troubles of the Mind). DeshGujarat
