Football Icon David Beckham likely to visit Ahmedabad during India trip

Ahmedabad: The British football icon David Beckham who played for clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid is expected to visit Ahmedabad from November 13 to 15. Beckham, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations’ Children Fund (Unicef) since 2005, is anticipated to begin his India visit here at an event organized by Unicef this weekend.

While Unicef officials have not officially confirmed the high-profile visit, multiple reliable sources close to the event have verified Beckham’s arrival in Gujarat.

“Beckham’s visit to India is scheduled between November 13 and 15. He is expected to land at Ahmedabad’s SVPI airport in a charter aircraft and subsequently proceed to North Gujarat for a Unicef event involving interactions with children,” a source informed a newspaper.

When approached for comment, a senior official from Unicef Gujarat refrained from confirming, stating, “Even if such visits are scheduled, they are privately managed events with no public engagement with the Unicef goodwill ambassador.”

Despite the absence of official confirmations, sources indicate that the English football star is also likely to take part in Diwali festivities and visit the Gujarat University Startup and Entrepreneurship Council (GUSEC) at Gujarat University during his brief stay in Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
