Ahmedabad: Infestation of insects, such as cockroaches and bugs, in various hotels and restaurants has become a frequent occurrence. In yet another instance, a family dining at the renowned Gwalia SBR restaurant on Sindhu Bhavan Road had a bitter experience when a cockroach emerged from their vegetable Kulcha.

A woman from Australia, visiting family members residing in the Chandlodiya area of the city, decided to dine at Gwalia restaurant on Sindhu Bhavan Road. They ordered various meals, including vegetable Kulcha. While eating the Kulcha, the woman discovered a moth-like object, which, upon closer inspection, turned out to be a half-dead cockroach.

The family immediately brought this to the attention of the restaurant staff. The manager apologized and promptly took back the food. The family asked the restaurant staff about their safety, expressing concerns about the potential consumption of more insects and the possible consequences for the family. They questioned who would be responsible if something adverse happened. When the family demanded answers in writing, the restaurant management only issued an apology.
