Six accused held in Harni boat tragedy case

Vadodara: The city police have nabbed six people out of 18 accused of the Harni Lake boat capsizing case, in which 14 people, including 12 students and 2 teachers, died on Thursday.
Vadodara Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot told the media, “A tragic incident occurred yesterday in Motnath Lake in the Harni area of Vadodara. While boarding, the 12 students and 2 teachers of Sunrise School passed away. Eighteen people were rescued.”
“We have arrested six people till now. Three arrests were involved in boat management in the lake zone. M/s Kotia Project had taken the contract from the VMC for development and activities on the lake. There are 15 partners in the company who are equally liable, as per their company statement. Out of them, 3 have been nabbed, so a total of 6 accused have been caught. Crime Branch, SOG, and PCB teams are conducting raids at different locations to arrest others in connection with the incident.” he added.
An SIT has been constituted for the investigation in the case. Police teams are working with FSL teams; the panchnama of the location and boats have been done. Some accused have been nabbed, and their interrogation is going on to see the other people involved in the case. DeshGujarat
