PM Modi may flag off Ahmedabad – Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train on March 12 in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: During his upcoming visit to Sabarmati in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi is likely to flag off another Vande Bharat Express train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai which shall run at the top speed of 160 km/hour. The train will be in the latest Orange color model. Prime Minister Modi is set to flag off nearly 10 Vande Bharat trains across the Indian railways on March 12 through a video link. Ahmedabad-Mumbai will be one of them.

Ahmedabad – Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train will leave Ahmedabad railway station at 6.10 am and reach Vadodara at 7.06 am. It will reach Surat at 8.30 am and Vapi at 9.33 am. It will reach Borivali at 10.59 am and Mumbai Central at 11.35 am.

The train will in return journey leave Mumbai Central at 15.55 and reach Borivali at 16.26. It will reach Vapi at 17.53, Surat at 18.55, Vadodara at 20.21, and Ahmedabad at 21.25. The train will operate daily barring Sundays.

This Vande Bharat Express train will have 16 coaches. The train will make halts at key stations such as Borivali, Vapi, Surat, and Vadodara.

 

At present Gandhinagar – Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train serves Ahmedabad en-route. The average daily ridership recorded for existing train between Mumbai Central-Gandhinagar capital city was 142 percent with 1596 passengers. In the return direction, the ridership was 146 percent with an average daily ridership of 1646 passengers. Due to this high demand, another Vande Bharat Express train was planned on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route. Howver Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar stretch is excluded in the new train.

In addition to this, the existing Vande Bharat Express train that is operated between Ahmedabad and Jamnagar will be extended up to Okha. The Prime Minister may also flag off a Weekly Express train between Bhuj to Delhi Sarai Rohilla.

The Prime Minister may dedicate an Operation Command Control Room (OCC) which has been readied in Dedicated Freight Corridor’s main office.

The Operation Control Centre, Ahmedabad, has been operationalized in March 2023. It’ll control WDFC’s train operations, signaling, and power supply and monitor the health of rolling stock & track safety. It’s equipped with advanced technologies & new applications for train operations.

The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) operations for the WDFC have been successfully migrated to the Operation Control Centre (OCC), Ahmedabad from DFC New Shrimadhopur station. Now all the Traction Power Controller (TPC) Operations will be done from the OCC(Ahmedabad).

The Prime Minister may also dedicate a new section of Western DFC between Makarpura and Golvad. He may dedicate Goods Cargo Terminals at Bechraji and other places.  DeshGujarat
