Ahmedabad Airport to get 600 more CISF personnel
April 01, 2024
Ahmedabad: In anticipation of the rise in passenger traffic at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) intends to deploy an additional 600 personnel ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Presently, approximately 1000 CISF personnel are responsible for overseeing airport security, with around 35,000 passengers commuting from here daily. The proposed expansion will focus on bolstering security measures at domestic and international terminals, cargo areas, and general aviation facilities. Airport management anticipates a gradual increase in the number of sub-inspectors and constables from April onwards, as part of the phased approach. DeshGujarat
