ACB Gujarat nabs another Talati mantri in bribe case

Gandhinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed one Hathisinh Kanjibhai Solanki, the Talati-cum-Mantri of Madhavgadh Gram Panchayat, in a bribery case involving Rs. 50,000.
According to the case details, the plaintiff sought to register his wife’s name in the inheritance register for a piece of land registered in the name of his father-in-law and siblings. Hathisinh Kanjibhai Solanki, serving as Talati cum Minister, Class-III in Madhavgadh Gram Panchayat, demanded a bribe of Rs. 2,00,000 for this task. Later, after negotiation, the accused agreed to accept Rs. 50,000.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the plaintiff contacted the ACB and lodged a complaint. Subsequently, a bribe trap was set up, leading to the accused being caught red-handed accepting the bribe on the spot, thus committing the crime. – DeshGujarat
