Bellary: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi today stated that the kings used to do whatever they liked and used to snatch the land of the people.
Addressing the public meeting, Rahul said, “When there was the rule of Rajas and Maharajas, they used to do whatever they liked. If they wanted someone’s land, they used to snatch it away.”
“The Congress party and our workers, along with the people of the country got the independence, brought democracy, and gave the constitution to the countrymen,” Gandhi added.
The Congress leader made these statements while addressing the public meeting in Bellary, Karnataka.

Gandhi’s statement comes as the Kshatriya community is protesting over the statements made by Rajkot BJP candidate and Union Minister Parshottam Rupala. Rupala, a few weeks ago, made remarks about the relationship between kings and foreign invaders. While the Congress party is supporting the Kshatriyas in protest against Rupala, Rahul Gandhi has made these statements attacking the kings and kingdoms of the past. DeshGujarat
