Vadodara: Two persons are dead after drinking sugarcane drink in Vadodara.

City based 52-year old Chetan Soni had brought sugarcane drink to home on Wednesday night and offered it to persons in family. His wife Binduben and father Manharbhai passed away after consuming sugarcane drink, while son Akash(24) is hospitalized in SSG hospital and critical.

Chetanbhai who himself operates sugarcane drink outlet near Nandanvan society in Tarsali area of city is also hospitalized.

After their deaths, Manharbhai and Binduben were taken to crematorium and cremated, and therefore Police is not able to take samples from their bodies. According to Makarpura police inspector Parmar, the drink could have presence of potassium cyanide. He said it’s a matter of investigation who mixed it. DeshGujarat
