Several Ahmedabad schools receive bomb threat emails; Police on alert
May 06, 2024
Ahmedabad: Several schools in the city received threatening emails today, prompting immediate action by the police. The bomb threats via email targeted multiple schools, leading to the deployment of Police and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams to conduct investigations.
Despite thorough searches conducted on the school premises, no suspicious items have been found. However, the police remain vigilant and on high alert. The threats are believed to have originated from a Russian server. Seven schools, including Anand Niketan in Ghatlodia and Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chandkheda, have received threatening emails. These threats come just a day before the polling for the General Elections of Lok Sabha is set to take place in the state on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that a similar incident occurred just last week in the Delhi-NCR region, where numerous schools also received bomb threats, which later turned out to be hoaxes. DeshGujarat
