Not acting against party; Don’t have to answer to anyone: Radadiya on IFFCO elections
May 11, 2024
Gandhinagar: The co-operative sector’s politics has heated up over the past two days, with Jetpur BJP MLA Jayesh Radadiya emerging as the winner in the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) director election against his own party’s mandate. Rajkot district BJP leader Babu Naseet attacked Radadiya and demanded action against him, as well as against the members who voted for him. There is also discussion about a leader of a social organization appealing to voters to vote against Jayesh Radadiya. However, Jayesh Radadia stated, “I have not acted against the party. Social organizations should not interfere in the cooperative sector’s politics.”
Bipin Patel of Ahmedabad was given the BJP mandate in the IFFCO director election. However, MLA Jayesh Radadiya contested the election and won with 114 votes, showcasing internal factionalism within the BJP.
Today, Rajkot district BJP leader Babu Naseet attacked Jayesh Radadiya and demanded that the state president take action against the members who voted for Radadiya. He further said, despite having a mandate in Rajkot Lodhika Sangh, action was taken against me. Even today, there is something going on between BJP-Congress. The party should take action against Jayesh Raddiya in the same way as action was taken against us. BJP leaders who came from Congress do corruption in cooperatives. I demand strict action against those who go and work against BJP.
Jayesh Radadiya, in a statement, said that he had filed his candidature before the BJP gave the mandate in the IFFCO elections. He didn’t even know that the BJP had given a mandate. He worked only for the party in his constituency during the Lok Sabha elections and has not worked against his party. Rajkot District Bank and Cooperative Structure run on Farmers’ Sabhas. He does not have to answer those who accuse him and wants to see the interests of the farmers’ councils.
Reports have surfaced that a social organization leader from the Patidar community has urged voters to vote against Radadiya. Commenting on this interference, Radadiya said that no social organization should interfere in the cooperative sector. Social organizations should not get involved in politics. He would like to tell the heads of social organizations that instead of doing politics in society, if they have to do politics, they should join politics.
Former president of Khodaldham and president of Rajkot Builders Association, Paresh Gajera, also reacted to this and said that after Vitthalbhai, now Jayeshbhai is a farmer leader, and everyone should cooperate with him. He has an impression as a leader who is sad in farmers’ pain and happy in farmers’ happiness. He works for farmers. Gajera heard that a social leader has appealed to vote against Jayeshbhai, which should not happen. The leader should be dismissed from the institution by the trustees, and his resignation should be taken by the trust.
