Gandhinagar: Ahmedabad – Vadodara expressway experienced a long traffic jam once again due to a diversion related to the ongoing construction work near the Mahisagar river bridge. A portion of the expressway is closed for traffic due to ongoing work.
– Activities like swimming and taking bath in the sea at Shivrajpur Beach are prohibited for the period of 4 June to 2 August by the district administration for safety reasons. All water sports activities will also remain shut during this period.
– Special Operation Group (SOG) of Surat Police has nabbed one more accused in the fake currency notes case. Accused Sadik Batakawala is nabbed with Rs. 2.90 lakh fake currency notes. Police earlier had nabbed three in a fake currency notes case. All of them are migrant Muslims.
– In response to the ongoing protests against Smart meters in parts of Gujarat, the Energy Department has taken a decision that pending bills of old meters will no longer be deducted from recharge payments of new smart meters. Instead, the outstanding amounts of old meters will be billed and collected separately.
