Crime Branch questions BJP Corporator Nitin Ramani in Rajkot Gamezone fire case

Rajkot: The Crime Branch, investigating the tragic Rajkot TRP Game Zone fire incident that resulted in the loss of 27 lives, summoned BJP corporator Nitin Ramani on Friday for questioning. Allegations suggest that Ramani received money from the management of TRP Game Zone. The crime branch began interrogating Nitin Ramani around 8 p.m. in the evening. His statement was taken by Rajkot ACP Crime Bharat Basia during the interrogation that lasted until late at night.

During the interrogation, TRP Game Zone Manager Yuvrajsinh Solanki allegedly admitted to providing Rs 1.5 lakhs to Nitin Ramani, the corporator of Ward No. 13 in Rajkot. Interestingly, Ramani had visited the TRP Game Zone with his family just 15 days before the unfortunate incident.

It was learned that there was a fire at the game zone last September, prompting the management to approach Ramani for assistance in regularizing the illegal structure to prevent its demolition. Although Ramani acknowledged being approached by Prakash Hiran regarding the regularization, he denied accepting any money. Ramani claimed to have introduced game zone management to architect Nirav Varu and sought his advice on resolving the matter by paying the impact fee. Hiran was referred to Ramani by his uncle.

After municipal officials, the role of public servants is also emerging in the Rajkot TRP game zone fire incident. Nitin Ramani, the corporator of Ward No. 13 of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, arranged a meeting between Architect Nirav Varu and the administrator of the game zone, Prakash Jain, and Yuvraj Solanki to regularize the TRP game zone by paying the impact fee six months ago.

Ramani also accused TPO Mansukh Sagathiya of corruption, alleging that he accepted bribes for every file that crossed his desk. He further claimed that Sagathiya collaborated with multiple architects to legalize unauthorized constructions in exchange for monetary gain. Ramani asserted that half of the city’s structures are currently unauthorized. It should be noted that 15 days before the fire, Ramani visited the game zone with his family.

27 people have died in the fire incident at the TRP game zone in Rajkot, leading to the police registering a complaint and arresting a total of nine people, including the managers, who are currently being questioned. Accused Yuvrajsinh Solanki’s police questioning revealed the involvement of civic servants, including Nitin Ramani. However, Nitin Ramani defended himself, stating that he only introduced the administrators to the architect.  DeshGujarat
