Gandhinagar: Guajrat Chief Minister has ordered immidate suspension of seven Government officrs in connection with Rajkot based TRP game zone fire incident. The officials showed lethargy and lapses in performing their duty and alloed game zone to start operation without required permissions.

Among those suspended, one is VR Patel, a Police Inspector in Rajkot, presently serving at Reader branch. He was station incharge i Rajkot taluka police station in 2023. He had given positive opinion for booking lic,ense to game zone. The application was made by Race-way enterprize for booking license to amusement park. Patel had given positive opinion in favor of the application, keeping aside the facts that the applicant had not obtained no objection certificate of fire department and similar certificate from Pashchim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL). Patel is suspended and shifted to Dang district in South Gujarat as his headquarters.

NI Rathod, Police Inspector presently serving at Gandhigram-2 poliec station was in 2023 in additional charge of the post of police inspector in license branch. He didn’t take note of a notting put forwrad by the table clerck and presented the file for approval of license to amusement park. Rathod has been shifted to Dahod as headquarters and suspended from job.

Gautam Joshi is another official suspended following the fire incident.He is Assistant Town Planner in Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC)s town planning branch. The game zone at Nana Mava village’s survey number 49, Town Planning(TP) scheme 20(nana Mava) plot 2 had no structure approval from Town Planning branch. The structure remained for a long time but there was no action against it. The responsibility of same was with Assistant Town Planner leve official. Gautam Joshi is therefore suspended from his job.

Jaydip Chaudhary, Assistant Engineer in Town Planning branch of RMC is one more official suspended. TRP mall based structure had obtained no permission from the Town Planning branch and it was functioning without permission. No action was taken in this regard. The responsibility of taking action lies with Assistant Engineer level official of RMC, meaning Jaydip Chaudhary. Chadhary has been therefore suspended.

MR Suma, Dy Superitendent Engineer of Road and Building department, Rajkot is suspended as he submitted a report without site visit in favor of construction of amusement park which paved a way for booking license to Race Way Enterprises for TRP game zone.

The sixth official suspended is Paras Kothiya, then assistant engineer (presently deputy superitendent engineer). He has been suspended as he didn’t pay site visit even after instructed to do so by the department.

The seventh official suspended today is Rohit Vigora, a Station Officer in Fire & Emergency Services branch of RMC. Vigora is responsible for site visit, supervision and fire NOC. As a Station Officer he didn’t take action against the gaming zone which was functioning without fire NOC. DeshGujarat
