Orange alert for these parts of Gujarat; IMD predicts very heavy rain

Gandhinagar: The monsoon has today covered the whole state of Gujarat. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest forecast has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in some districts of the state until June 28th and has issued an orange alert in these parts.

As per the IMD’s latest bulletin, districts namely Bharuch, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Morbi, Dwarka, and Gir Somnath are under an orange alert with the likelihood of heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy (115.6-204.4 mm) rainfall today.

Heavy rains are very likely in the districts of Banaskantha, Patan, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Navsari, Valsad, Surendranagar, Bhavnagar, Botad, Kutch, Daman-Diu, and Dadra Nagar Haveli. These districts are marked with yellow.

On June 28th, Friday, an orange alert is issued for the districts of Porbandar, Junagadh, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and Diu as they are very likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, districts namely Anand, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Kutch, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli are marked with yellow for the probability of heavy rains.
