Widespread rain across Gujarat up to 2 inches; Surat tops the chart

Surat: The monsoon is very active over Gujarat, with heavy rainfall being reported from several areas in the state. As of 4 pm today, a total of 100 talukas have received rain showers.
Heavy rain was predicted in parts of South Gujarat, and the prediction seems to be coming true as Palsana taluka in Surat has topped the rainfall chart today with over 2 inches of rain.
According to the state emergency operation center, Palsana in Surat and Khergam in the adjoining district of Navsari have recorded over 2 inches of rain from 6 am to 4 pm today.
Botad, Gandevi, Umbergaon, Chikhli, Gariadhar, Valod, Sutrapada, Kamrej, Navsari, Olpad, Vapi, Palitana, Jalalpore, and Lilia are the talukas that have received 1 to 2 inches of rainfall today until 4 pm.
Surat, Navsari, and Botad are the top three districts in terms of rainfall so far. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli for expected heavy to very heavy rain. DeshGujarat
