Rajkot to get 4 new bridges; Gujarat CM OKays Rs. 247.92 cr projects for Saurashtra

Rajkot: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today gave in-principle approval for development works worth Rs. 247.92 crores in the Saurashtra region, including four flyovers valued at Rs. 185 crores in Rajkot.

Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme, the CM approved the Rajkot Municipal Corporation’s proposal to construct four flyovers within the Rajkot metropolis.

These projects, estimated at Rs. 185.79 crores, include:
– Phase II of underbridge and flyover bridge at Kataria Chowk
– Construction of a walkway bridge from Raiya Village to Smart City’s D.P. Road
– Widening of three bridges on the road from Kataria Chowk to Smart City on the 150 feet ring road
– Construction of a high-level bridge over Khokhal Dal river on the road connecting Kotharia and Lapasari

The Chief Minister also granted in-principle approval to allocate funds from the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme for Bhavnagar, Shihor, Gondal, and Malia-Miana in Saurashtra, including the flyover projects of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation.

In this regard, out of various proposals presented by the Urban Development Department, the Chief Minister approved allocating Rs. 45.69 crores for the proposed Nagar Yojana in 31 villages under the Bhavnagar Area Development Authority and for the underground sewerage scheme in Varatej village.

Additionally, the Chief Minister allocated Rs. 8 crores, 31 lakhs, and 50 thousand for the town hall project in Shihor Nagar Palika after giving it in-principle approval. He also allocated Rs. 6 crores, 92 lakhs, and 84 thousand for the Sports Complex project in Gondal Municipality.

Rs. 2 crores have been allocated to the ‘D’ class municipality Malia-Miana for four works related to CC Road construction. DeshGujarat
