Rajkot: In a huge catch, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Rajkot city crime branch teams found gold jewellery and biscuits of 22 kg worth Rs. 15 crore in addition to other items from the private office of suspended Town Planning Officer(TPO) of Rajkot city Mansukh Dhanjibhai Sagathiya(MD Sagathiya).

The private office is owned by MD Sagathiya’s brother a 150 ft ring road based Twin Star Towr’s North Block(number 901). ACB and Crime Branch had sealed this office.

Today Sagathiya was taken to the office by ACB and Crime Branch teams. Apart from Rs. 15 crore gold, the raiding teams found Rs. 2 lakh silver items, Rs. 8.50 lakh diamond items, Rs. 3,05,33,500 (over Rs. 3.05 crore) cash currency notes, Rs. 1.82 lakh foreign currency notes, Rs. 1,03,100 golden belt wrist watch(2) and other high-value watches(6).

Sagathia, under scrutiny by ACB Gujarat, faces allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. Despite a potential legal income estimated at Rs. 2.57 crore+, earlier investigations had uncovered assets totaling over Rs. 13.23 crore+, including investments and expenditures linked to Sagathia and his family members. The findings suggest Sagathia’s assets exceed his legal income by 410.37 percent, amounting to over Rs. 10 crore beyond his declared earnings.

The accused’s assets unearthed earlier by ACB include:

– Jay Babari petrol pump at Sokhda

– Industrial godowns (3) at Sokhda

– Jay Babari petrol pump at Gomta

– Hotel under construction at Gomta

– Farmhouse at Gomta

– Agricultural land at Gomta and Chordi in Gondal taluka

– Gas godown in Urja Industrial at Shapar

– Plot in Balaji Greenpark at Movaiya

– Under construction bungalow in Anamila Society on University Road of Rajkot

– Tenement in Astha Society in Madhapar at Rajkot

– C-1701 Ester flat at Adani Shantigram Township in Ahmedabad

– B-7, 802 La Marina at Adani Shantigram Township in Ahmedabad

– Six vehicles including two Honda City cars

– Foreign travel to Dubai, Europe, South Africa, Australia, the U.K., Maldives, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia DeshGujarat
