Ahmedabad: After days of waiting while the rest of Gujarat was battered by heavy rain, the city of Ahmedabad finally rejoiced today as clouds brought a significant downpour around noon.
Following a long dry spell, moderate to heavy rain was observed in areas such as Paldi, Jivraj Park, Vasna, Shyamal, Prahlad Nagar, Ellisbridge, Ashram Road, Jamalpur, Astodia, Geeta mandir, and Lal Darwaza. Other areas like Sarkhej, Jodhpur, Prahladnagar, Shyamal, Shivaranjani, SG Highway, Usmanpura, and Maktampura also experienced rain.
Early in the day, light rain was observed in Gota, Chandlodia, Jagatpur, SG Highway, Vaishnodevi Circle, and other areas in the western part of the city. At around 1:00 pm, heavy rain was followed by strong winds.
Although the rain has subsided in most areas, there is a likelihood of its return as dark clouds hover and strong winds blow. The Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest bulletin, has forecasted heavy to moderate rains over the next five days. DeshGujarat
