As Vishwamitri level eases to 16 ft, water release from Ajwa dam resumes to keep 211 ft level
July 28, 2024
Vadodara: As the water level of Vishwamitri river came down to around 16 ft level (beyond 20 ft), the release of water from Ajwa dam is resumed. 62 gates of Ajwa dam are open now to maintain the level at 211 ft. At 1 pm on Sunday(July 28) the level is 211.85 ft at Ajwa. With release of water from Ajwa dam, the level in Vishwamitri will rise but as the level is below 20, the rise will not result into crossing of 26 ft danger level or 28 ft actual impacting level. The administration has taken a decision to release Ajwa water in phased manner in order to save Vadodara from flood. When Vishwamitri ievel rose to 29.40, the release from Ajwa was stopped. As the level is now below 20 ft, the release from Ajwa is resumed. As per convention, Ajwa level needs to be maintained at 211 ft level before August 15. DeshGujarat
