Gandhinagar: Three individuals lost their lives by drowning in the Sabarmati River in Sector 30 of the state capital, Gandhinagar.

A group of people had arrived at the riverbank in a tempo from Ahmedabad to immerse idol of Daha Mata in the Sabarmati River in Sector 30. Among them, 12-year-old Poonam Prajapati, who had come with her family, started drowning in the deep water. Four people jumped into the water one after the other to save her. However, Ajay Vanzara and Bhartiben Prajapati also drowned, while the other two were rescued by locals.

Upon learning of the incident, the Gandhinagar Fire Brigade team conducted a search operation in the Sabarmati River and recovered the bodies of Ajay Vanzara, Bhartiben Prajapati, and Poonam Prajapati.
