Water level of Ajwa Dam recedes below danger level of 214 ft

Vadodara: Tuesday morning brings some relief to the people of the city, as the water level of the Ajwa Sarovar Reservoir starts decreasing early in the morning. At around 1:50 AM, the water level at Ajwa is at 214.67 feet, and since then, it has been receding continuously. As of 10:00 AM, the water level has come down to 213.98 feet, which is below the danger level of 214 feet.
On the other hand, the water level of the Vishwamitri River is at 32.05 feet at the Kalaghoda Bridge, which is over 6 feet above the danger mark of 26 feet. However, the pace at which the water was rising in the river on Monday has slowed down. On Monday, the river crosses the danger mark of 26 feet at the Kalaghoda Bridge around 4 PM, and within six hours, by 10 PM, it is above 30 feet. But now, the river is maintaining the water level around 32 feet since 5:30 AM this morning.
Vadodara witnesses nearly 12.5 inches of rain during the last 24 hours ending at 6 AM this morning, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a further alert for the likelihood of extremely heavy rains during the next 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM on Wednesday.
