NRIs depositted over Rs. 5870 crores in banks of Gujarat in a year

Gandhinagar: As per the quarterly report of State Level Bakers Committee(SLBC) of June 2024-25, Non Residential Indians(NRI) deposits in the banks of Gujarat have gone up at Rs. 93,096.04 crore (over Rs. 93 thousand crores) against Rs. 87,225.87 crroe(over Rs. 87,000 crore) a year ago.
Tthe NRIs depositted over Rs. 5870 crore to the banks in Gujarat in a single year. The highest Rs. 1675.34 crore increase in NRI deposits through the year was noticed in Vadodara, followed by Ahmedabad, Kutch, Anand and Surat.
In terms of total numbers, the highest sum of deposits have been made in the banks of Ahmedabad which was over Rs. 20,000 crores, followed by Kutch -over Rs. 15,000c rores, Vaddoara -over Rs. 14,900 crores, Anand -over Rs. 8,000 crores and Surat- over Rs. 6700 crores.
NRI deposits drcreased in Gandhinagar, Bharuch, Morbi, Tapi and Banaskantha districts. Out of 33 districts of Gujarat, NRI deposits increased in 22 districts while it decrased in 11 districts. DeshGujarat
