Five-year-old dies in lioness attack in Jafrabad of Amreli

Amreli: A five-year-old boy lost his life after a lioness mauled him on Monday night. The victim, a son of a farm laborer was playing with another child outside his hut in the plantation area of Navi Jikadri village in Jafrabad Taluka when the lioness attacked him and carried him away.
Later, after a thorough search by local residents and forest department officials, the child’s body was located and taken to a hospital for post mortem. The local residents have been living in fear and anger, claiming that they had approached the forest department several times about the presence of lions in the area.
However, the forest department has launched efforts to trace and capture the lioness responsible for the attack. DeshGujarat
