Gujarat CM allocates Rs. 254 crore for urban development work in these towns

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned Rs 253.94 crore for multiple development works in 14 towns and one metropolis with the objective of increasing the ease of living by increasing the well-being of the citizens living in the towns and cities of the state from Swarnim Jayanthi Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme.
To turn the challenges of urbanization intensified due to the growing business and industries as a result of Gujarat’s world-class development, the current Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi launched the Swarnim Jayanthi Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme in 2010, the golden jubilee year of the founding of Gujarat. Due to the progressive success of this scheme, it has been continued till 2026-27.
The Chief Minister has awarded Jasdan Municipality Rs. 6 crore. For construction of Town Hall in Halol Municipality Rs. 10.29 crore and for road widening and new fort wall in Viramgam Municipality Rs. 8.64 crore works have been sanctioned.
Not only this, the Junagadh Municipal Corporation will get Rs 40 crore for the works of Sports Complex, Town Hall and Narasimha Vidya Mandir heritage building. The works that enhance the city’s identity include heritage and tourism, exhibition halls, traffic circle islands, water body landscaping, riverfront, lake beautification, museums, iconic bridges, etc.
The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 25.29 crore to Pardi Municipality for storm water drainage works and Rs 25.52 crore to Patan Municipality for similar works.
Veraval-Patan Municipality for underground sewerage and water supply works for Somnath Trust Area and remaining areas of Veraval Patan will get Rs. 26.69 crore.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 24.54 crore to Karamsad Municipality, Rs 14.93 crore to Umargam Municipality and Rs 9.11 crore to Bilimora Municipality for underground crore scheme.
The total amount of Rs. 126.08 crore worth works have been sanctioned under Swarnim Jayanthi Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme for physical infrastructure. Under the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister’s Urban Development Plan, physical infrastructure works include water supply, underground sewerage management, water, drainage works, irrigation works, basic facility works in slum areas etc.
CM Bhupendra Patel has approved Rs. 60 crore for CC road construction in Botad municipality for outgrowth area development works.
For drinking water pipeline from Porbandar-Chhaya Municipal areas and CC road and street LED light under the Private Society Public Participation Scheme, Rs. 53.68 lakhs have been sanctioned.
Under Chief Minister Urban Road Scheme for renovation of NHAI roads of Rs. 2.52 crore has been allotted for 2.1 km road after passing through Chorwad Municipality area. Along with this, the Chief Minister has sanctioned 80 lakh rupees to Tankara and Waghodia municipalities for resurfacing-repairing roads damaged due to monsoon rains.
A budget of Rs 61,977 crore has been provided in this Golden Jubilee Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme since 2010. DeshGujarat
