SOP to be made for surgeries in multi-specialty hospitals: Gujarat Health Minister
November 13, 2024
Ahmedabad: The state government will be making a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for pre-planned surgeries performed in multi-specialty hospitals. The Health Minister made this statement today after two people lost their lives at Khyati Hospital following an angioplasty that was performed without their consent.
State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, while talking to the media, said, “The incident that took place at Khyati Hospital is a case of criminal negligence that led to the death of two people. The angiography and angioplasty were performed without the permission of the family, and the case is being investigated by the team. All the necessary legal steps will be taken, and strict action will be taken in this case so that it becomes an example for doctors and multi-specialty hospitals in the future. I also want to say that an SOP will be formed for planned surgeries in multi-specialty hospitals.” DeshGujarat
