Ahmedabad: In a major breakthrough, the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch has arrested five absconding accused involved in the Khyati Hospital case.
The arrested individuals include Chirag Rajput (Director, as per the hospital website), Milind Patel, Rahul Jain, Pratik Bhatt, and Pankil Patel. Chirag and Rahul also serve as the hospital’s CEOs. The Crime Branch conducted a well-coordinated operation, raiding a farmhouse in Kheda where Chirag Rajput was hiding. Meanwhile, Rahul Jain and Milind Patel were apprehended in Udaipur.
According to an official from the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, the three accused have been brought back to Ahmedabad and are being interrogated regarding their escape and the identities of those who assisted them. Two other accused, Pratik Bhatt and Pankil Patel, were also arrested on suspicion of their involvement in the case.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, Harsh Sanghvi, remained in constant communication with the Crime Branch during the operation, ensuring swift action. The arrests were made following his directive, as he reiterated his commitment to securing justice for the victims of the scandal.
These individuals have been booked in connection with the alleged unnecessary angioplasty surgeries performed on seven patients, two of whom – Mahesh Girdhar Barot (52) and Nagar Moti Senma (75) – later died due to alleged negligence in their post-operative care. DeshGujarat
