One held at Ahmedabad airport for smoking on Delhi-Ahmedabad flight

Ahmedabad: Airport police on Tuesday arrested a 36-year-old, Nijamuddin Saifi hailing from Delhi, for smoking in the toilet of a Delhi-Ahmedabad flight. He was booked under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for endangering the lives and safety of others.
According to the complaint filed by Sunil Panchal, a security officer with a private airline, Saifi was on a flight that departed Delhi at 11:27 pm and landed at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport at 1:08 am. Around 12:45 am, Saifi used the airplane’s toilet, and upon exiting, the flight attendants detected smoke. Crew member U N Chakariya found a cigarette butt in the dustbin. Saifi admitted to smoking on board, and the airline filed a report, highlighting the presence of a flammable item and the safety risk posed to passengers. DeshGujarat
