Gujarat High Court Holiday List for 2025; District Judiciary Holidays in 2025

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Government, through a Gazette notification, announced the list of public holidays to be observed in the Gujarat High Court for the year 2025. The Gazette also included the optional holidays for officers and staff of the district judiciary in the state.
The following is the list of holidays fixed for the High Court of Gujarat, for the year 2025.

- If any of the Muslim religion Holidays notified above does not fall on the day notified, the Muslim Employees of the High Court may be granted an Optional’ Holiday on the day on which the holiday is actually observed.

DIWALI VACATION : From Friday, October 17, 2025 to Thursday, October 30, 2025 (Both Days Inclusive)
WINTER VACATION : From Monday, December 29, 2025 to Sunday, January 04, 2026. (Both Days Inclusive)
The preceding and the succeeding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays shall form part of vacation.

Officers and Staff of District Judiciary in the State of Gujarat may avail of maximum any two of the holidays on the festival occasions mentioned above at their option and irrespective of their religious denomination. Permission for availment of these optional holidays should however, be applied for in advance and will normally be granted by the officer competent to grant casual leave with due regard to the exigencies of work. This leave of two days taken by Officers and Staff of the District Judiciary of Gujarat at their discretion on the festival of their choice will not be debited to their casual leave account.
If any of the Muslim Holidays notified above, does not fall on the day notified, the Muslim Officers and Staff of the District Judiciary in the State of Gujarat may be granted an Optional’ Holiday on the day on which the holiday is actually observed.
