February 21, 2025
Gandhidham: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today arrested Yuvrajsinh Batuksinh Vaghela, an Aadhaar card operator at Punjab National Bank’s Aadhaar Card Center in Gandhidham, for accepting a bribe of Rs. 100.
According to ACB, Vaghela was responsible for updating Aadhaar cards and collecting the government-mandated fee. However, the ACB got a tip-off that he was illegally demanding additional amounts ranging from ₹100 to ₹1,000 from the public. Acting on a tip-off, ACB officials set up a decoy trap, during which the accused demanded ₹100 to update a mobile number on an Aadhaar card. Upon accepting the bribe within the Punjab National Bank compound, he was immediately apprehended, and the bribe amount was recovered. Further investigations are underway. DesHGujarat
