Ryan International School Buses Seized for Unpaid Taxes in Surat

Surat: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Surat has seized 16 buses belonging to Ryan International School for failing to pay vehicle taxes. The crackdown comes as part of a larger initiative to enforce tax compliance among school bus operators.

The RTO has taken a strict stance against schools that have been delaying tax payments for extended periods. Today, the focus was on Ryan International School, where 16 buses were impounded.

  • Tax Arrears: The seized buses had outstanding tax payments ranging from two months to two years.
  • Out-of-State Registration: Two of the seized buses had registrations from outside Gujarat and were taken to the RTO office.
  • Remaining Buses: The remaining 14 buses were impounded and parked within the school grounds at Dumas Road, Magdalla Circle, Surat.

The RTO has issued a clear warning that the seized buses will not be released until the outstanding taxes are paid. Furthermore, the department has vowed to continue its campaign against schools operating buses without paying taxes. Similar actions against other schools in the coming days are expected.
