March 28, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has arrested Vanrajsinh Valkubhai Wala, an unarmed head constable of Narol Police Station, for accepting a bribe of ₹1,500.
As per the ACB, the accused had allegedly demanded ₹2,500 from a complainant, who had ceased his liquor business four months ago, threatening to frame him in a false liquor case if the payment was not made. The complainant had already paid ₹1,000 earlier but was unwilling to pay the remaining amount and approached the ACB. Acting on the complaint, ACB officials set a trap at Shyam Industry, Motipura Crossroads, Shahwadi Road, where the accused accepted ₹1,500 and was caught red-handed. The entire bribe amount was recovered on the spot. The accused has been booked, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
