April 23, 2025
Ahmedabad: Following the Islamist terror attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has cancelled the planned tour of 15 elected councillors, including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Standing Committee Chairman, to Kashmir. The tour was scheduled to take place from 24 April.
The tour was sponsored by the AMC and had been taking place in a phased manner. Previously, many corporators had paid visits to Kashmir under the title of ‘Study Tour.’ In the next phase, the Mayor, Standing Committee Chairman, and others – a total of 15 councillors – were to visit Jammu & Kashmir. However, in the wake of the recent terror attack, the tour has reportedly been cancelled.
