Surat: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state over the next seven days, with widespread showers expected.
During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rain is very likely in Aravalli, Mahisagar, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Porbandar, Dwarka, and Kutch, while heavy rain is very likely in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
On July 6, heavy to very heavy rain is very likely at Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. Additionally, heavy rain is likely at Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Rajkot, Gir Somnath, Botad, and Diu.
On July 7, heavy to very heavy rain is very likely at Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, while heavy rain may lash Surat, Dang, Tapi, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
On July 8, heavy rain may occur at Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
On July 9, heavy rain is very likely in Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
On July 10, heavy rain might lash Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
On July 11, heavy rain is expected at Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Meanwhile, the rest of the state may witness light to moderate rainfall during this period.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Sri Ganganagar, Bhiwani, Agra, Banda, Dehri, Purulia, Kolkata, and then extends east-southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal.

Yesterday’s trough now runs from the northeast Arabian Sea to the cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and the surrounding region, passing across north Gujarat, north Madhya Pradesh, southeast Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southward with height.

An offshore trough extends from south Gujarat to the Karnataka coasts at mean sea level.
