Joint Investigation Underway into Damaged Bharatmala Highway near Santalpur: Gujarat govt

Gandhinagar: A joint investigation has been launched into the damaged stretch of the Bharatmala Highway near Santalpur in Patan district. The inquiry is being conducted in coordination with the Central and State Governments, said the State government in a note released to media today.
The investigation is being carried out jointly by National Highway Authority member Venkataraman and Patan District Collector Tushar Bhatt. Road samples were collected from the site for quality testing. Shri Venkataraman stated that if any discrepancies are found in the quality of the samples, legal action will be initiated – said the State government.

The State government further in its press release informed – ‘a notice has been issued to the road contractor responsible for the work. In response to the situation, road repair operations have commenced using machinery and manpower. The National Highway Authority has assured that the repairs are being carried out to ensure smooth traffic movement.’
