September 23, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed two school officials in a bribe case involving ₹35,000. The accused, Kamleshbhai Maneklal Patel, was serving as Principal at Sheth Shri L.V. & K.V. Bhavsar Vidya Mandir School in Detroj, while another accused, Vimalbhai Bhailalbhai Patel, was a Junior Clerk at the same school.
According to the ACB, the complainant, a recently recruited teacher, had joined the school on 29/07/2025 after passing the government-conducted teacher recruitment exam. Upon joining, Principal Kamleshbhai Patel allegedly demanded ₹35,000 under the pretext of processing her EWS (Economically Weaker Section) registration under the National Education Policy.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB. Following the complaint, ACB officers planned and executed a trap. During the operation, Kamleshbhai instructed the junior clerk, Vimalbhai Patel, to collect the bribe amount. Both accused were caught red-handed while accepting ₹35,000, confirming their involvement in the bribery. DeshGujarat
