AUDA Approves New Development Plans, Land Allocations and SOP Updates in 307th Board Meeting

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) held its 307th Board Meeting today, where several important decisions were taken regarding urban expansion, infrastructure development, and civic amenities.

Seven New Town Planning Schemes Approved

With Ahmedabad emerging as one of India’s fastest-growing mega cities and a potential host for upcoming global sporting events such as the Commonwealth and Olympic Games, AUDA has decided to initiate seven new Town Planning (TP) schemes. These will cover areas including Sanand, Godhavi, Kaneti, Nindrada, and Matnuru villages, adding nearly 1,000 hectares to the city’s planned development zone. The move is expected to accelerate well-structured growth, provide modern infrastructure, and open up opportunities for new residential projects.

Revisions to Existing TP Schemes Cleared

The board also cleared revised drafts of several existing TP schemes (Nos. 229, 238, 439, 407, 3, 412/B, 138/B, and 139/C). With these approvals, the finalization process will advance, enabling timely infrastructure rollout and improved connectivity in these areas.

SOP for RMC Plants Updated

To ensure smoother construction activities and better environmental compliance, AUDA finalized its updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plants. The revisions were made after considering suggestions from the RMC Association and the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). The new SOP will now be enforced across AUDA limits.

Land Allocations for Civic Amenities

Kalol Municipality: AUDA approved land allotment in TP Schemes 3, 5, and 6 for building a water sump, pumping station, and filtration plant. This will enhance drinking water supply for Kalol residents.

Sanand Municipality: With Sanand rapidly evolving into a major industrial and semiconductor hub, AUDA cleared an additional 5,627 sq. m. of land for the construction of a community hall, complementing an earlier land allotment of 3,000 sq. m. for a municipal service center. The move aims to boost civic amenities and recreational infrastructure in the region.

AUDA officials emphasized that these steps mark a strong push towards planned urbanization, improved infrastructure, and enhanced quality of life for residents across expanding Ahmedabad urban limits.DeshGujarat
