Ahmedabad: A shocking incident has come to light in Ahmedabad, where a 14-year-old girl discovered a mobile phone hidden in a changing room of Palladium Mall on SG Highway, allegedly used to record obscene videos. The Vastrapur police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused, identified as Ravi Sureshbhai Prajapati.
According to the complaint, the minor had gone shopping with her parents at a clothing showroom in the mall on October 1. While trying on new clothes in the trial room, she noticed a mobile phone placed on the floor. Alarmed, she immediately brought it to her mother. Upon checking, the phone was found to contain four objectionable videos, including recordings of the girl while she was changing.
The victim’s mother informed the store’s female manager before alerting police. Soon after, Ravi Prajapati arrived to claim the device, insisting that the phone had “accidentally fallen” and denying any wrongdoing. However, investigators suspect that the phone was deliberately placed to film unsuspecting women.
Police have seized the mobile phone and initiated a forensic probe. The accused, who works at a car showroom, is under investigation, with CCTV footage from the mall being reviewed to ascertain his movements and purpose at the location.
