Attempt to derail a train foiled in Surat

Surat: Dindoli Police have registered a case against unidentified person(s) for attempt to derail a train on Vadodara – Mumbai route.
The incident according to police belongs to 29th September. A police complaint was filed regarding that on 2nd October.
According to police some person yet to be tracked had put a steel plate on the railway track apparently in attempt to derail a train on this route. However thanks to the presence of mind of loco driver of a goods train, the break was applied timely and derailment of the train was prevented.
Police said – on 29 September after a goods train crossed Udhna and moved towards Bhestan, the loco pilot heard a sound at around 8.45 pm. He stopped the train and checked to realize that a steel plate had collided with frontal part of train. The train had suffered no damage. Loco pilot informed his senior official about this, following which a civil engineer of Railways filed police complaint on 2nd October. DeshGujarat
