Diwali Rush: 1.74 Lakh GSRTC Bus Tickets Booked in Advance

Ahmedabad: Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) is witnessing heavy bookings for Diwali travel, with buses already filling up ahead of the festival. A total of 1.74 lakh tickets have been booked in advance for the period from October 17 to 26.
On October 7 alone, 68,051 tickets were booked in a single day, generating an advance revenue of Rs 1.93 crore for the corporation. Out of these, 13,856 tickets were booked at counters, 5,810 through e-booking, and 43,711 via mobile booking.
High demand has been reported in major divisions such as Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar, Valsad, Vadodara, and Jamnagar, as people plan to travel to their native places.
According to GSRTC officials, advance bookings have increased significantly this year. Routes from Ahmedabad to Rajkot, Junagadh, Ambaji, Dwarka, Surat-Valsad, and Udaipur will see the highest number of buses.
