October 15, 2025
Ahmedabad: A massive fire broke out late Tuesday night at the Sonalben Khakrawala factory in Santej GIDC, causing extensive damage to the facility just days before Diwali. Seven fire tenders from Gandhinagar were rushed to the spot as thick smoke and flames spread rapidly through the premises.
Gandhinagar fire officials said the factory was closed when the blaze erupted. Workers from nearby units immediately alerted the fire brigade, which launched a large-scale operation to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjoining factories. Firefighters battled the flames for several hours before bringing the situation under control.
Initial findings indicate that the fire may have been triggered by an electrical short circuit. Although no injuries or casualties have been reported, the losses are estimated to be substantial, with machinery, raw materials, finished goods, and storage areas suffering extensive damage. DeshGujarat
