ACB Gujarat Nabs AMC Security Guard in Bribery Case
October 16, 2025
Ahmedabad: Vijay Makwana, a contract-based security guard in the Estate branch of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), was caught accepting a bribe by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today.
As per the ACB, Makwana allegedly demanded bribes from street vendors and small traders to allow them to continue their business without harassment. He was reportedly taking Rs. 200 from food stall owners and Rs. 100 from vegetable carts, claiming that those who wanted to operate their business peacefully had to pay him.
The complainant alerted the ACB after repeated harassment by Makwana. Acting on the tip-off, the ACB laid a trap, recovered Rs. 6,000—the total amount of the bribe demanded and accepted by Makwana and apprehended him. DeshGujarat
