Vadodara: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, on a two-day visit to Gujarat, reportedly expressed his displeasure when local leaders in Vadodara were late for a public event and did not receive him as per protocol this morning.
The program in the city was part of the 17th Employment Fair, being held across 40 locations in the country, to distribute appointment letters to over 51,000 individuals. Scindia was the chief guest at the Vadodara event to hand over appointment letters to 86 people and arrived at the venue a few minutes before the scheduled time. However, none of the local leaders, including local MP Hemang Joshi, Vadodara Mayor Pinkyben Soni, and MLA Chaitanya Desai, were present to receive him as per protocol. They arrived approximately half an hour later, by which time the Union Minister had already taken his seat on the stage.
This breach of punctuality and protocol reportedly upset Scindia, who admonished the leaders on the stage itself. A video of the incident shows Scindia confronting them over the delay in a sarcastic tone. It is learned that the Minister said, “I am a guest and a son-in-law of Vadodara—why did you arrive late?” The local leaders subsequently explained the reason for the delay and apologized for the incident.
It is noteworthy that Minister Scindia had arrived earlier than scheduled, highlighting his commitment to punctuality, while the delay from local leaders drew public attention. DeshGujarat
